Ayurveda is one of the oldest health care systems in the world that has been continuously practised for the last 5000 years. Ayurveda, which translates to “knowledge of life” is a holistic approach to health and well-being. Through Ayurveda, we understand that we, as humans are governed by the laws of Nature and when we stray from these laws, this is when imbalances and disease occurs.
The Ayurvedic approach to health treats everyone as an individual and works to heal and bring balance to your Mind, Body and Soul. We are all born with a specific constitution, or Prakruti, that determines our physical, physiology and mental characteristics. Our Prakruti is based on the balance of the Elements, Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth within us at birth, which is then grouped into the Doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. When we know what our Dosha balance is, we can determine when we are out of balance and how to bring ourselves back into alignment and well-being.
In Ayurveda, we acknowledge that what happens outside of our bodies, also happens within. So Ayurveda works with the seasons and our environments to create the optimum health and longevity in our lives.
As we move through life, we are influenced by our environment, diet, the seasons / the climate, our age, and many other factors. These then can influence the balance of the elements within our bodies, which in turn can affect our health, energy level, and general mood.
Through our Ayurvedic consultation we examine a person’s constitution, current symptoms, diet and lifestyle. We are then able to create a treatment, specialised for you, designed to relieve symptoms as well as to develop and maintain optimal health.
The goal of Ayurveda is to restore and bring proper balance and harmony between our Mind, Body, Soul and the world around us. This is accomplished by using the senses properly and living a healthy lifestyle in line with the natural laws of the Universe.
The beautiful thing about Ayurveda is that its wisdom is all-encompassing. You may be feeling unwell or out of sorts, living with an illness or disorder, or just wanting to improve your overall health and vitality. Ayurvedic knowledge is here to help you in whatever your current situation is, and help you to flourish into the health and wellness you deserve!
If you answered yes to one or more of these symptoms, then you are in the right place. Whether you are deep into your healing journey, or at the first few steps, together we will work together to help bring your Mind, Body and Spirit into balance and well-being. At our core, we are such powerful beings, who are full of vitality and beauty. However, through our modern lifestyle, our environment, our isolation, our disconnection from nature, our poor diet, and our chronic stress levels, it is no wonder that our health, individually and collectivity is in major decline.
By working with Ayurvedic principles, and the modern and ancient knowledge this traditional holistic practice carries, we can undo negative habits and allow the body to step back into her immense power of healing.
